Senior Data Analyst & Data Engineer – French Speaker

Porto-based opportunity with hybrid work model (up to 3 remote days per week).

As a Senior Data Analyst & Data Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading player in the banking and financial services industry. The project focuses on bridging business needs with the technical data pipeline, enabling smarter decision-making and impactful insights. Your main responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical data models and specifications.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust data models (star & snowflake schemas) optimized for analysis and reporting.
• Build, test, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines primarily using Stambia (or other tools like Talend, Informatica, SSIS, dbt).
• Develop high-performance dashboards and reports to support strategic decisions.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and documentation, including data lineage and data dictionaries.
• Implement automated data quality checks and improve data governance processes.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Over 6 years of experience in data analysis, analytics engineering, or BI development.
• Strong proficiency in SQL (complex queries, joins, optimizations, stored procedures).
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles and data warehouse concepts (Kimball methodology).
• Direct experience with Stambia or other ETL tools like Talend, Informatica, SSIS, or dbt.
• Fluent in English and French (professional working proficiency in French is essential).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or related fields.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

• Hands-on experience with Power BI, DAX, and Power Query/M.
• Prior experience in banking, finance, or insurance sectors.
• Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of Python or Unix/Linux scripting.

Language Required for the role:

• Fluent in English (written & spoken).
• Professional proficiency in French (B2 level or higher).
