Lisbon-based opportunity with a hybrid work model (up to 2 days remote per week).
As a Senior Application Support Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading player in the industry focused on maintaining and enhancing critical production systems. Join a team committed to excellence, ensuring seamless operations and innovative solutions.
Your main responsibilities:
- Provide solid application support in a critical production environment, ensuring system availability and performance.
- Analyze logs, troubleshoot incidents, and track issues across distributed systems using structured approaches.
- Perform maintenance, updates, and incident resolution following ITIL best practices (Incident, Problem, Change management).
- Collaborate with development teams to understand application architecture and support requirements.
- Utilize CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab for deployment and automation processes.
- Monitor system health with various tools, including job schedulers and monitoring platforms.
- Apply basic scripting in PowerShell, Shell, or Python to automate routine tasks and improve support workflows.
- Assist in implementing stability improvements and preventive measures for production systems.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 4 years of experience in application support, operations, or a similar role.
- Solid experience with application support, RUN, and MCO in critical environments.
- Proficiency in .NET / C# development, MS SQL Server, and familiarity with Dynamics 365 is a bonus.
- Good understanding of web applications, APIs, relational databases, and monitoring tools.
- Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot incidents, and perform structured problem-solving.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab.
- Well-versed in ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
- Experience working in Windows / Unix / Linux environments with basic scripting skills.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with PowerShell, Shell scripting, or Python.
- Certifications or additional expertise related to IT service management or automation.
Language Required for the role:
- Good command of English — both spoken and written.
