As a Senior COBOL Developer, you will be working for our client, a global IT leader driving innovation with cutting-edge mainframe solutions and services. You will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining core legacy systems, translating complex requirements into reliable COBOL programs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables. This role offers a pathway for technical mastery and career advancement in a dynamic environment.
Your main responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2/SQL, and JCL to meet business requirements.
- Understand detailed requirements and translate them into effective COBOL code.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Technical Leads to ensure seamless system delivery.
- Conduct unit testing and system integration testing to guarantee software stability.
- Support the deployment and support phases, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Create detailed test documentation and execute test cases effectively.
- Uphold strict adherence to client standards, security policies, and best practices.
- Mentor junior team members, sharing expertise and supporting knowledge transfer initiatives.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 7 years of experience with COBOL, CICS, DB2/SQL, JCL, and mainframe online screens.
- Over 5 years of experience in system analysis, design, and testing.
- Proficiency with Eclipse, Visual COBOL, and working in Unix Shell Scripts is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins and Git.
- Excellent command of English (B2 level or higher).
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Knowledge of mainframe support activities during testing phases.
- Relevant certifications in legacy systems or mainframe development.

- English (Good command)
