Senior Network Security Engineer – Firewall & Segmentation Expert

As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will be working for our client, a prominent player in the enterprise IT sector, dedicated to safeguarding digital infrastructures and enabling seamless, secure connectivity. Your expertise will ensure the operational excellence of security systems, guiding implementation, optimization, and compliance adherence to support robust and resilient network architecture.

Your main responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot network security malfunctions to guarantee high availability and minimal disruption, adhering to SLAs.
• Implement, code, and optimize firewall policies and segmentation rules with best practices in NSX-T / VCF9, Palo Alto, and Fortinet environments.
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance, training, and alerts on network security issues, and ensuring compliance with IT security standards.
• Collaborate with cross-domain technical teams to refine security architecture and improve operational workflows.
• Manage firewall rule optimization and automation to enhance security posture and operational efficiency.
• Maintain incident and change management records aligned with ITIL best practices, ensuring continuous improvement.

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 6+ years experience in network security and IT production operations (incidents, requests, changes, documentation).
• Hands-on expertise with NSX-T / VCF9, Palo Alto, and Fortinet, including coding and micro-segmentation implementation.
• Proven ability to manage security policies, segmentation, and automation within enterprise environments.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and either French or Portuguese, with fluent command in both languages.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

• Certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent.

Language Required for the role:

• Fluent English and Portuguese OR French.
