Senior Storage Administrator – Backup and Data Recovery Specialist

As a Senior Storage Administrator, you will be working for our client, a leader in innovative data management solutions. You will help design, implement, and maintain robust backup and recovery systems across multiple sites, ensuring seamless data protection and operational excellence. Your main responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize your operational environment of 10 TSM servers, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Define and implement data retention policies, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Monitor system health across three sites, troubleshooting issues proactively.
• Perform data restores and recovery procedures to guarantee data integrity.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and propose continuous improvements to processes and infrastructure.
• Manage IBM tape libraries and tape management systems with advanced expertise.
• Develop scripting solutions in Bash, KSH, Python, and Perl to automate and enhance storage workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including database administrators, utilizing RMAN, TDP, and SQL scripting for DB2 environments.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in storage management and backup solutions.
• Proven expertise with IBM TSM, StorageProtect, and TSMManager.
• Deep knowledge of tape libraries and tape management.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, KSH, Python, and Perl.
• Familiarity with RMAN, TDP, and DB2 SQL scripting.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Relevant certifications in storage or backup management.
• Experience with advanced data archiving solutions or cloud integrations.
