Senior Teradata Data Engineer – Banking Data Factory

Lisbon-based opportunity with a hybrid work model, including on-site presence at least 2.5 days per week.

As a Senior Teradata Data Engineer, you will be working for our client in the banking sector, supporting the Data Factory team in developing, maintaining, and operating reliable data pipelines and jobs. You will help deliver high-quality data solutions that enable efficient banking operations while contributing to a collaborative and continuously evolving technology environment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and operate Teradata-based data pipelines and jobs.
• Schedule and monitor jobs using Control-M.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries in Teradata.
• Perform ETL processing with Ab Initio.
• Collaborate with technical teams using Git, Jira, Confluence, MEGA, and Zeenea.
• Produce clear technical documentation, activity reports, and test results.
• Analyze data processes and resolve operational issues independently.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with Teradata and SQL.
• Practical knowledge of Unix, Ab Initio, and Control-M.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• A strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, autonomy, and curiosity.
• Experience working in a structured, business-critical data environment.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience in the banking sector.
• Knowledge of MEGA and Zeenea.
• French language skills.

Language Required for the role: Fluent English is mandatory.
