On 26th Sep 2024, ITDS Portugal had the privilege of hosting an electrifying event in collaboration with CIONET Portugal at the Tivoli Hotels & Resorts in Lisbon, themed \u201cEmbrace AI or Risk Obsolescence.\u201d This gathering served as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for transformation among Digital Leaders.<\/p>\n

A Roadmap for AI Leadership<\/h3>\n

The event kicked off with an inspiring presentation by Riadh Chaabouni, CEO of ITDS Portugal, who shared a straightforward yet effective AI roadmap checklist for all digital leaders. His message was crystal clear: \u201cTo lead in AI, you must simplify complexity and enable execution with precision.\u201d This roadmap highlighted essential steps for organizations looking to harness the power of AI, emphasizing the importance of clarity and strategic execution in navigating this complex landscape.<\/p>\n

The Human Factor in Tech Innovation<\/h3>\n

Following Riadh\u2019s insightful presentation, attendees enjoyed a masterclass led by Alexandre Fonseca, Taguspark, who explored the human factor. His key takeaway resonated deeply with us: \u201cDon\u2019t kill technology, but integrate emotional intelligence \u2014 be close to the business, become part of it.\u201d This powerful reflection emphasized the need to blend emotional intelligence with technological innovation, an approach that can drive greater success in our organizations.<\/p>\n

A Crucial Conversation<\/h3>\n

As the evening progressed towards an executive dinner, an important conversation unfolded among participants. There was a unanimous agreement that Portugal needs a Government CIO and a Government CISO. Representation at the Portuguese Council of State is crucial for ensuring that digital leadership reflects the needs of the industry. Additionally, the discussion emphasized the importance of retaining talent and creating opportunities for professionals to either stay or return to Portugal.<\/p>\n

The event not only offered expert insights but also presented a clear roadmap for the future of digital leadership in Portugal. The discussions reinforced the urgency of embracing AI, leveraging emotional intelligence, and advocating for stronger representation in governance.<\/p>\n
