Own the operational backbone of a major financial institution's IT infrastructure.
Lisbon-based opportunity with hybrid work model.
As a Senior Operations Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial services group, within their Production Operations team. You will ensure the operability, stability, and continuous improvement of critical IT platforms — from batch scheduling to cloud infrastructure — operating in a demanding RUN environment with high SLA standards. If you thrive on precision, incident ownership, and cross-team coordination, this is your role.
Your main responsibilities:
- Ensure operability of solutions in RUN OPEN: CMDB updates, documentation, obsolescence and vulnerability management, and MCO as N2 support.
- Define, plan, and execute batch jobs via Control-M; monitor processing in real time and respond to abends, dependency anomalies, and SLA breaches.
- Launch and control Open and Control-M production processing; manage incident recovery and intervene on resources (disk space, queues, catalogs).
- Monitor file transfers via CFT / Connect:Express and handle associated incidents end-to-end.
- Supervise cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP): VMs, containers, managed services, IAM, costs, backups, and monitoring via CloudWatch / Stackdriver.
- Provide technical support to application teams; optimize processing chains and reduce batch times.
- Write and maintain operating procedures; produce availability, performance, and quality reports.
- Participate in production deployments, changes, and out-of-hours interventions.
- Act as technical integrator, supporting project build phases in coordination with the Project Manager / ScrumOps team, aligned with DevOps standards.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- Strong hands-on expertise in Control-M: scheduling, real-time monitoring, incident management, chain creation and optimization.
- Proficiency in Linux/Windows administration: bash scripting, permissions, process supervision, log analysis.
- Solid experience with application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, Apache) and deployment pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Ansible).
- Proficiency in CFT / Connect:Express: transfer restarts, error analysis, queue tracking, reporting.
- Practical cloud ops experience on AWS or GCP: automation (Terraform, Ansible), security (IAM, KMS), monitoring, cost management.
- Knowledge of Dynatrace for APM monitoring, alerting, and RCA.
- Familiarity with ITIL V4 and agile/DevOps practices.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM tooling.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) or ITSM frameworks.
Language Required for the role:
- English (B1 minimum — written and oral, notably for hub exchanges)
- French (B1/B2 minimum — written and oral)
Eligibility for the role:
- Only candidates with an existing legal right to work in the European Union will be considered for this role.
