As an Expert API and Integration Test Engineer – Microservices & Automation, you will be working for our client, a leader in digital solutions, focused on delivering robust, high-quality applications across complex distributed systems. Your role is pivotal in shaping the future of scalable, reliable services by implementing and maintaining end-to-end testing frameworks that ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Your main responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive integration tests across microservices, MongoDB, and Kafka environments.
- Build and maintain REST API test suites covering functional, negative, boundary, and error-handling scenarios.
- Apply a BDD approach using Karate, Cucumber, and Gherkin to streamline API and integration testing processes.
- Develop consumer–provider contract tests utilizing tools such as Pact to ensure service compatibility.
- Create and sustain UI automation tests for Angular web applications using Java + Selenium WebDriver, Playwright + TypeScript, and Appium for mobile/hybrid scenarios.
- Integrate all testing suites into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, covering integration, API, BDD, UI, and contract testing.
- Design and manage test data strategies for MongoDB and Kafka, ensuring accurate and reliable testing environments.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to facilitate testing in Kubernetes and Docker environments.
- Promote quality best practices and advocate for BDD adoption across teams.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 8 years of experience in API & Integration Testing, particularly within microservices and distributed systems.
- Strong expertise in REST API testing with C#/.NET (xUnit/NUnit/MSTest, HttpClient, RestSharp) and Postman + Newman.
- Proficiency in BDD tools such as Karate, Cucumber/SpecFlow, and Gherkin.
- Hands-on experience with web test automation using Java + Selenium WebDriver (POM, JUnit/TestNG), Playwright + TypeScript, or Appium.
- Solid knowledge of Java, TypeScript, and C#/.NET for test automation.
- Experience working with Jenkins, Git, MongoDB, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with testing best practices including SDLC/STLC, automation design patterns, and test pyramid principles.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with Testcontainers for .NET or Java.
- Knowledge of observability tools like ELK Stack, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or Karate Gatling.
- Experience with continuous test management tools like Xray or ALM, and testing on device farms using Experitest.
- Knowledge of Karate Mock Server for dependency simulation.
Language Required for the role:
- Fluent English and Portuguese.
