Senior Scala Developer – Private Banking

This is a Lisbon-based hybrid opportunity – work from home for 3 days per week.

As a Scala Developer, you will work for our client—a global IT leader driving innovation with cutting-edge solutions and services. You will be responsible for building and deploying high-performance backend services, leveraging Scala’s advanced libraries and infrastructure.

Your Main Responsibilities:

• Develop applications meeting top standards of performance, availability, and security.

• Design and implement clean, scalable public and internal APIs.

• Take ownership of specific backend support components.

• Collaborate on agile teams to continuously deploy automated procedures.

You’re ideal for the role if you have:

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 4 years of experience in Scala development.

• Strong knowledge of Scala libraries and patterns like Zio, Akka, Shapeless, Monix.

• Experience with infrastructure such as Kafka, Kubernetes, and microservices.

• Fluency in English, strong problem-solving skills, and proactivity.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies like Scrum and experience in writing unit and end-to-end platform integration tests
