On 26th Sep 2024, ITDS Portugal had the privilege of hosting an electrifying event in collaboration with CIONET Portugal at the Tivoli Hotels & Resorts in Lisbon, themed “Embrace AI or Risk Obsolescence.” This gathering served as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for transformation among Digital Leaders.

The event kicked off with an inspiring presentation by Riadh Chaabouni, CEO of ITDS Portugal, who shared a straightforward yet effective AI roadmap checklist for all digital leaders. His message was crystal clear: “To lead in AI, you must simplify complexity and enable execution with precision.” This roadmap highlighted essential steps for organizations looking to harness the power of AI, emphasizing the importance of clarity and strategic execution in navigating this complex landscape.

There was a unanimous agreement that Portugal needs a Government CIO and a Government CISO. Representation at the Portuguese Council of State is crucial for ensuring that digital leadership reflects the needs of the industry. Additionally, the discussion emphasized the importance of retaining talent and creating opportunities for professionals to either stay or return to Portugal.
