IT Security Engineer

This is a Porto-based hybrid opportunity – 2 days from home per week.

As an IT Security Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading player in the financial sector, ensuring robust security infrastructure to protect critical data and systems. Your role will involve project management, technical support, and security solution implementation in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Maintain and monitor security infrastructure systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to firewalls, load-balancers, and WAF.
• Lead security architecture projects, deploying INET equipment and evaluating solutions.
• Support level 2/3 escalations on security, internet, and market data systems.
• Coordinate planned operations, including night/weekend shifts as needed.
• Innovate and optimize production processes to enhance security and efficiency.

You’re ideal for the role if you have:

• 3-6 years of experience in security infrastructure (Fortinet, Ubika WAF, Checkpoint).
• Strong skills in DNS, IDS/IPS, load-balancing, and VPN configurations.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools (Ansible, Python, Perl).
• Fluent English (minimum B2 level) and strong interpersonal skills.
• ITIL management experience and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
• Customer-oriented mindset with a keen eye for detail.
