Senior Infrastructure Kubernetes Specialist

This is a hybrid Lisbon-based opportunity – 2x in the office

As a Senior Kubernetes Specialist, you will work for our client – a global IT leader driving innovation with cutting-edge solutions and services. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing robust Kubernetes environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of containerized applications, as well as providing expert guidance on best practices and optimization strategies.

Your main responsibilities:

• Design, size, and automate the installation of Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and robust IAM (Identity and Access Management) practices

• Define and document standards for Kubernetes infrastructure, including network (SDN and CNI), backup technologies, and persistent volume management

• Assist in the migration of existing projects to the new containerized platform, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption

• Implement and maintain CI/CD tools such as Kustomize and ArgoCD to streamline development and deployment processes

• Work collaboratively within an Agile framework, actively participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to continuously improve team processes and deliverables

You’re ideal for the role if you have:

• Proven experience in implementing and managing Kubernetes clusters, including sizing, availability, installation automation, and IAM

• Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and container network interfaces (CNI) such as Calico and Cilium

• Knowledge of backup technologies like Velero for Kubernetes environments

• Experience managing persistent volumes using technologies such as CEPH and Portworx

• Proficiency in using CI/CD tools like Kustomize and ArgoCD to automate and streamline the deployment process

• Fluency in English
