Develop and implement agile infrastructures
This is a hybrid Porto-based opportunity
As a DBA Engineer, you will be working for Client – a leader in corporate and investment banking. You will be responsible to guarantee database availability and consistent performance and work closely with development teams
Your main responsibilities: Build DevOps solutions
- Creation and maintenance of databases in operational condition Develop and establish common practices & standards for increasing the resilience, consistency, quality and security of the databases
- Ensures the integrity of existing databases by guaranteeing physical security and logical security
- Optimization of SGDB engines and SQL code
- Participate in change management, which involves collaborating with different teams
- Effectively manage and solve production incidents or requests
- Participate in business projects on the design and implementation of databases
- Works closely and continuously with the Design, Infrastructure and Security teams
- Contributes to infrastructure development projects Databases under the responsibility of the infrastructure teams
- Implements and ensures the correct monitoring of the databases
- Work closely with developers to assist them in adopting and improving their use of existing tools and practices such as alerting, obsolescence, vulnerabilities
- Keep documentation up to date: document the components and operations of the applications
- Participate in an on-call rotation alongside the engineers who build our products
You’re ideal for the role if you have:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience with databases administration (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle and/or others)
- Solid experience in debugging and troubleshooting
- Experience with common databases administration tools (database management CLI’s/GUI’s, HA services and data protection)
- Good level of English B2
- Experience in a Software, Infrastructure, Systems, and/or Site Reliability Engineering role
- DevOps mindset
- Ability to keep up with a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and evolve
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
