Java/Kafka Tech Lead

This is a Porto-based hybrid opportunity – 3x from home per week

As a Java/Kafka Tech Lead, you will be working for our client – a leader in the financial industry, exemplifying innovation, agility, and unwavering commitment to its clients. You will work alongside our Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Software Engineers, and others in the Application teams, from the specification to the implementation phase to improve our applications and business lines decisions. In addition, you will promote Data Centric mindset & Data Driven company.

Your main responsibilities:

• Work closely with business users, business analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and developers to deliver Kafka solutions;
• Ability to apply Kafka implementation standards;
• Active participation in all phases of the development cycle;
• Drive the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge features for Kafka on Apache Kafka ;
• Ensure the optimum performance, high availability, and stability of the solutions developed.

You’re ideal for the role if you have:

• 4 years of experience
• BS/MS Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, or a similar area
• 3 years of Java development 
• English – minimum B2 
• Experience in Implementing stream applications on Java
• Experience in writing programs using Kafka APIs and Kafka Streams API
• Experience with Kafka, Schema Registry, Kafka Stream, Maven
• Experience with JSON and Avro
• Experience in all development processes 
• Knowledge in agile methodologies and tools (Scrum/Kanban)
