Mainframe Operations Technician – DB2 & z/OS

Lisbon-based opportunity with a hybrid work model, including up to 2 remote days per week.

As a Mainframe Operations Technician, you will be working for our client, supporting mainframe operations and technical environments. You will help ensure the stability of DB2 and z/OS systems, manage essential file transfers and messaging services, and contribute to efficient incident resolution within an ITIL framework. This role includes shift work and on-call responsibilities.

Your main responsibilities:

• Operate and support DB2 and z/OS mainframe environments.
• Perform database queries and administration tasks using IBM SPUFI.
• Manage file transfers through CFT.
• Support messaging operations using MQ Series.
• Record, monitor, and resolve incidents in ServiceNow.
• Follow ITIL practices to maintain effective service management.
• Participate in shift work and provide on-call technical support.
• Apply analytical thinking and proactive problem-solving to operational challenges.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 2 years of experience in mainframe operations or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience with DB2 and z/OS.
• Practical knowledge of IBM SPUFI.
• Experience managing file transfers with CFT.
• Familiarity with MQ Series messaging.
• Experience using ServiceNow for incident management.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.

Language Required for the role: Communicative command of English and French.
