This is a hybrid Lisbon-based opportunity – 2x in the office
As a Support Engineer COBOL for our client, you’ll be at the forefront of data solutions, crafting applications on cutting-edge platforms. You will be responsible for offering comprehensive support for COBOL applications on modern platforms, ensuring operational integrity, and optimizing performance to meet client needs.
Your main responsibilities:
Provide real-time technical support for Mainframe-related issues using Jira.
Manage software updates and version upgrades in Mainframe development environments.
Monitor and optimize LPAR performance, offering recommendations for efficiency.
Collaborate with operations to govern and optimize non-production Mainframe environments.
Conduct user training and maintain documentation for issue resolution.
Monitor incidents related to TWS/OPC application management in Core Banking.
Participate in migration projects and technology disengagement.
Fluency in spoken and written French
3+ years of experience in Mainframe technical support
Proficiency in Cobol, CICS, DB2, VSAM (Level 3)
Familiarity with tools such as TSO, CHANGEMAN, IDZ, PDTOOLS, and SQL
Skills in Git, Python, Java, or Javascript
Ability to integrate modern tools into Mainframe environments for operational efficiency
