As a Senior Application Support Engineer – Banking & Finance Systems, you will be working on critical banking support environments, ensuring seamless operation, incident mitigation, and continuous improvement of essential financial applications. Your main responsibilities:
- Monitor and support critical banking applications, ensuring service levels are maintained and incidents are swiftly addressed.
- Investigate and troubleshoot production issues through log analysis, root cause investigations, and proactive monitoring.
- Manage support tickets, prioritize incidents based on business impact, and implement operational changes safely.
- Support enterprise web and application servers (like Apache HTTP Server, JBOSS, Tomcat, IIS) ensuring optimal performance.
- Automate routine tasks and streamline processes using scripting (Bash, Python) and scheduling tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, infrastructure, and security, to drive ongoing improvements.
- Document procedures, configurations, and incident reports aligning with governance standards.
- Maintain knowledge of security best practices, DevSecOps concepts, and application industrialization strategies.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 9 years of experience in application support within enterprise or banking environments.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills (working knowledge of Windows is a plus).
- Experience with web/application servers: Apache HTTP Server, JBOSS, Tomcat, IIS.
- Knowledge of control and scheduling tools, ideally Control-M or similar.
- Familiarity with network protocols: HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, LDAP, SMTP.
- Understanding of incident/problem/change management processes.
- Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills.
- Eligibility to work in Europe.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience within the banking/finance sector.
