Porto-based opportunity with hybrid work model (up to 3 remote days per week).
As a Senior Application Support Engineer – Linux & Middleware, you will be working for our client, a leader in application support within the financial industry.
You will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing core production applications, ensuring seamless service levels, and supporting continuous improvements through best practices and innovative solutions.
Your main responsibilities:
- Provide expert support for critical applications running on Linux and Middleware platforms, including Control-M, Apache, JBOSS, Tomcat, and IIS.
- Ensure the stability, security, and performance of production environments, mitigating incidents and managing changes effectively.
- Automate workflows and industrialize application processes to optimize efficiency and standardization.
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to maintain high-quality governance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and adhere to security and DevSecOps practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation to address urgent production issues, maintaining service levels and incident mitigation.
- Contribute to application lifecycle management, including upgrades, patches, and configurations.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Minimum 6 years of experience supporting production applications in Linux and Middleware environments.
- Strong knowledge of Linux (primarily), Windows, Control-M (or similar schedulers), and web/application servers such as Apache, JBOSS, Tomcat, and IIS.
- Understanding of architecture, network protocols, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and security best practices.
- Autonomous, rigorous, and team-oriented mindset with excellent troubleshooting skills.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with automation tools, scripting, or similar technologies.
- Additional certifications in Linux, Middleware, or Security.
Language Required for the role:
- Fluent English (spoken and written).
