As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be working for our client in the trading platforms and derivatives domain. You will take ownership of capturing, defining, and structuring intricate business and functional requirements for sophisticated financial instruments. Acting as a vital link between Front Office trading desks, Quantitative analysts, and Product owners, you will collaborate closely with backend, frontend, and DevOps teams to translate complex derivatives structures and payouts into clear, actionable technical specifications. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence innovative trading solutions and deepen your expertise in capital markets technology.
Your main responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze detailed business and functional requirements for trading platforms focused on derivatives and structured notes.
- Translate complex financial structures, such as autocallables, barriers, and payoff variations, into comprehensive technical documentation.
- Collaborate with Front Office, Quants, Product Owners, and technical teams to ensure alignment and clarity of project goals.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring technical feasibility and business needs are met.
- Support the Agile development process, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and user story creation.
- Work with SQL and data analysis to validate trade data and ensure accuracy in technical specifications.
- Leverage knowledge of APIs, JSON, XML, and data modeling to design robust solutions.
- Maintain a solid understanding of derivatives pricing, risk sensitivities, and capital markets products to inform requirements.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in capital markets or derivatives trading environments.
- Deep understanding of structured notes, certificates, warrants, and embedded options with experience in features like autocallables, barriers, and payoff structures.
- Strong knowledge of debt instruments (bonds) and derivatives (Options, Swaps, Futures, Forwards).
- Familiarity with derivatives pricing theories (Black-Scholes) and risk sensitivities (Greeks).
- Proficiency in SDLC methodologies, especially Agile (Scrum/Kanban), with experience using Jira and Confluence.
- Excellent SQL skills for data querying and analysis.
- Experience working with data modeling and API integration (JSON, XML, REST).
- Basic programming skills in Python or R (preferred).
- Fluent in English (mandatory).
It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)
- Hands-on experience with capital markets platforms such as Sophis.
- Additional certifications related to financial markets or business analysis.
