As a Senior ELK & Java Observability Engineer, you will be working for our client, a pioneering leader in advancing payment systems within the financial services industry. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing observability solutions leveraging the ELK Stack and Java technologies to enhance system performance and reliability. Your main responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Tech Lead on architectural decisions, solution design, and technical roadmaps focusing on ELK and Java platforms.
- Lead hands-on development of data ingestion pipelines with Logstash, custom Elasticsearch indexes, and insightful Kibana dashboards.
- Mentor and support mid-level and junior developers, conducting code reviews and sharing best practices to elevate team capabilities.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, including Elasticsearch performance bottlenecks and architecture improvements.
- Translate high-level architectural visions into actionable development tasks for the team.
- Drive continuous technological improvements and innovative solutions in observability and system performance.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, particularly in observability solutions or related fields.
- Strong proficiency with the ELK Stack: Elasticsearch (complex queries, index design, cluster management), Kibana, Logstash/Beats.
- Extensive Java and Spring Boot experience, including backend services and REST API development.
- Proven mentorship skills or a strong interest in supporting team growth.
- Effective communication skills, fluent in English at a B2 level or higher.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, XL Deploy, and XL Release.
- Experience with agile tools like Jira and Confluence.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Knowledge of frontend frameworks such as Angular.
- Familiarity with Kafka and PL/SQL.
- Background in financial services, specifically payments.
- Additional certifications in software development or agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in French at B2 level or higher.
Language Required for the role:
- Fluent English.
